Ephesians 6:1-3 (NIV)
“Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. ‘Honor your father and mother’—which is the first commandment with a promise— ‘so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.’”

God put your parents in charge on purpose. Even thought they do make mistakes, they are still the ones in charge. The Lord has purpose for this arrangement. We all have times where we know our parents are wrong, but they are still in charge.

Ephesians 6:4
“Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.”

The parents have a responsibility in this scenario too. God has commands for both parties, and it is up to each to follow theirs. You have enough to do following yours.
