Isaiah 55:8 says “my thoughts are not your thoughts”, that is some of the best news in the Bible.
It is easy to get frustrated with your progress. You thought you would be further along by now, you thought you would be over that one thing by now, you thought you would have more boxes checked off. That frustration comes from having an ideal version of yourself and your life that is different from reality.
It is just as easy to assume that God is as frustrated as you are, but He isn’t. God does not have an idealized version of you that He thinks you should be living up to. He is not keeping track of where you would be if you hadn’t messed up in the past. God accepts you as you are in this moment, at this point in your journey.
